“We purchased Pheasant Hill with grape growing in mind. It was a perfect place to live and raise our children and after consulting several local experts we decided it was a good bet that grapes would be just as happy here as we were. We read all the books we could find, asked everyone we could, looked at every vineyard we passed, tasted as many Oregon wines as we could afford and decided to try our hand in the emerging Southern Oregon wine industry. We tested soils, researched trellises, plowed, tilled, cut out blackberries, chased out cows and enlisted everyone in the family and all willing friends to help.”
